The Brookings Street Department will be sealing streets with oil and rock starting Monday, July 27th, 2020 (weather permitting).  Streets and avenues to be sealed will include the area of 6th St., North to 11th St. and S., Western Ave, East to Medary Ave. Medary Ave. will be sealed from 11th St., North to the city limits.

Residents who live in the area scheduled for seal coating should not park anything (vehicles, trailers, boats, RV’s, etc.) on their street from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., until their street has been covered with rock.  Vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Also, we ask that you please do not water lawns or drain sump pumps onto the streets during seal coating. Streets need to be dry in order for the seal coat to adhere.

Motorists are encouraged to drive slow, be cautious of the equipment, trucks and employees. Bicyclists and motorcyclists should exercise extreme caution when using these streets.  It would be best to select alternate routes during this time in order to avoid delays.
