Mission Statement
The Animal Control Department is responsible for providing enforcement
of Animal Control law ordinances and issues in the City. In addition,
the department also provides housing and care for unwanted, stray,
neglected, and abused animals. Adoption of unwanted and unclaimed
animals is also handled through this department.
General Hours (please call ahead):
8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday
8:00 am to 4:00 pm Friday
10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday
12:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday

City License Fees:
$5 for altered animals
$10 for unaltered animals
$1 for replacement/lost tag
Some Animal Control Laws and Ordinances:
Sec 7-3. Animals on School Grounds or Recreation Areas,
restricted.
Sec 7-6. Humane Care of Animals, required. i.e. food, water,
shelter at all times.
Sec 7-43. Running at Large, all animals must be restrained
so as not to be allowed to run at large.
Sec 7-45. Disturbing the Peace or Public Nuisance, barking,
howling, making loud or unusual noises, tearing up garbage, destroying
or defacing property, etc.
Sec 7-47. Defecation Disposal, your are required to clean
up after you pet on public or Private property.
Sec 7-49. Required License on all cats and dogs.
Sec 7-51. Rabies Vaccination, required on all cats and dogs.
Sec 7-55 Dogs and Cats are required to Wear Tags at all
Times.

Violation of city ordinances can result in a maximum fine of $200.00.
