Eligibility to Vote
You are eligible to vote in Brookings if you are:
- Age 18 or older
on the next election day
- A citizen of the United States
- A resident
of Brookings, South Dakota
- Not under a sentence of imprisonment
for a felony conviction
- Not be judged mentally incompetent by a court of law
REGISTRATION LOCATIONS:
- County auditor's office
- City Clerk's Office, City Hall
- Driver's license station
- Public assistance agencies providing food stamps, TANF or WIC
- Department of Human Services offices which provide assistance
to the disabled
- Military recruitment offices
- Mail-in registration with cards from the county auditor's office
REGISTRATION DEADLINES:
- Fifteen days prior to any election
- Mail-in cards must be received by the county auditor 15 days prior to the election or postmarked 30 days prior to the election
