The Housing Inspection program is administered under the Community Development Office:

All rental housing properties in the city are licensed by the program. Licenses
can be issued for a period of from two to four (2-4) years.
All rented units are inspected in buildings with seven (7) units and fewer when they are licensed. The Fire Department inspects buildings with more than seven (7) units and sends a report to housing. The Community Development Office issues the actual license and collects the fees for the city.
Complaints of substandard housing and poor maintenance of properties are investigated on an individual basis.
