Mission Statement
The mission of the Brookings City Engineering Department is to provide quality engineering and building services to all citizens in a professional and efficient manner.

We do this by planning, organizing and directing of construction and maintenance of public works facilities and building services; and the coordination of all public works projects with other departments or local, state and federal agencies.

The City Engineering Department has quality of life as its utmost purpose. Many of the things done within the office directly affect the lives of the citizens of Brookings, not only today, but for years to come. Whether it is future land use or the future street system, providing adequate storm drainage or inspecting housing for life safety, the fostering of a diverse economic base through planning is accomplished by the Engineering Department.
