The Housing Inspection program is administered under the Engineer's Office:

All rental housing properties in the city are licensed by the program. Licenses can be issued for a period of from two to four (2-4) years.
We inspect all rented units in buildings with seven (7) units and fewer when they are licensed. The Fire Department inspects buildings with more than seven (7) units and sends a report to housing. We then issue the actual license and collect the fees for the city.
Complaints of substandard housing and poor maintenance of properties are investigated on an individual basis
