Planning and Zoning is a function of the Engineering Department:
- Vision 2020 comprehensive plan adopted.
- Zoning variance requests are processed.
- Staff support for the Planning Commission and the Board of
Adjustment.
Housing Inspection Program:
Each rental unit in Brookings is inspected for fire safety codes, parking
& zoning. Each unit is licensed by the city when compliance is met.
Code Enforcement:
The City Engineer's Office investigates and enforces violations of the
city's codes:
Housing violations
Property use
Front yard and boulevard parking
Property maintenance complaints
Signage
