How To Sort Your Recyclables
The City of Brookings provides the citizens of Brookings with a
curbside Recycling Program. The recyclable products are picked up
on Thursday and Friday of each week. They are then delivered to
Cooks Wastepaper and Recycling for processing. This process consists
of two different sorts for recycling.
Sort 1 - Paper Products
- Newspaper
- Office Paper
- Mixed Mail
- Cardboard Boxes
- Magazines
Notes - Newspaper
- Do not bind any paper products with string
or twine and remove all rubber bands
- Only clean dry paper products
will be accepted
- Please use clear or white plastic bags or brown paper sacks to dispose
of papers
Notes - Cardboard
- NO contaminated

- NO wax coated cardboard
- NO pizza boxes
- Remove all
staples and packing material and flatten
- NO cereal boxes, pop cartons and beer cartons
Magazines, Office Paper And Junk Mail
- DO not bind any magazines, office paper or junk mail
- NO staples, paper towels, facial tissues or sticky notes
- NO window envelopes
- NO telephone books
