Can I reserve a shelter at Hillcrest Park?
Call Park & Rec office at 692-2708 for free reservations beginning
January 2nd of each year.
What are the charges and how long can I stay at the Sexauer Park campground?
Normal maximum stay is 2 weeks and reservations can be made by calling
692-2708 and paying in advance.
Credit cards are accepted for advance
reservations only.
Is it permissible to consume beer in the city parks?
Beer is permitted but no other alcoholic beverages.
I would like to use the Pioneer Park bandshell for a musical event; does this require a permit?
The Park and Recreation office will explain criteria for permission for a public concert at the bandshell.
What are the Community Gardens and how do I get one?
Plots 20 ft. by 25 ft. are available for annual rental for $15 by contacting Park and Rec office, 692-2708.
FORESTRY
Does the city plant boulevard trees?
Trees in new subdivisions and where requested in other locations in the city are planted at no charge to the property owner.

A boulevard tree in front of my house has a large broken branch. Will the city remove it?
City Forestry maintains all boulevard trees on a 5-7 year rotation, but will respond to calls on specific problems.
An American Elm in my yard looks sick. How can I find out if it has Dutch Elm Disease?
City Forestry personnel will inspect and diagnose all suspected Dutch Elm Disease cases, even on private property,
as part of the city Dutch Elm Disease control program.
