Safety Town
About the ProgramSafety Town
Safety Town continues to be an important program and outreach for the Police Department. Safety Town is a general program designed for preschoolers and children who have just entered school. Safety Town is conducted over a two month period and serves approximately 240 children. It operates under the budget of traffic safety and the City of Brookings. Safety Town officers spend two hours a day with each class in the areas of traffic safety, stranger danger and fire safety. The Safety Town Program provides not only a good learning experience for
children, but also offers a positive relationship with law enforcement.
