[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE: Brookings Regional Landfill Opens Citizens Campus

The Brookings Regional Landfill has now opened a new venture called the Citizens Campus at the 4101 30th Street location.

The Citizens Campus provides a location where residents can drop off wood and lumber, tree branches, and yard waste. The yard waste materials are then recycled into compost, which is then made available to residents for pick up for use in gardens and lawns. The campus is available at no cost to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It provides convenient after-hours access to those who may want to drop off materials or get compost before or after regular landfill operating hours. The Landfill requests that individuals who utilize the tree branch service during regular operating hours weigh in on the drive-up scale so the landfill can keep track of the branch weight. The campus is located near the entrance of the landfill and can be accessed by making a left turn after entering through the first set of gates.
